I will just be building a Shockwave from a pistol grip only 500. I have all the parts, I just need time and cooler weather to work comfortably in my workshop. I was just doing a mind excersize as to whether it would be cheaper to buy a shockwave and Form 1ing it to a SBS or just doing a Form 4 SBS. I think it is cheaper to just do a factory SBS. The ATF actually mention the Shockwave in the proposed rule changes regarding braces. Their stance is that a brace has no use on the shockwave, as it was designed to be shot with two hands. The letter actually states that adding a brace to a shockwave implies it will be used to shoulder the weapon. Just thought you might want to know this! One of the websites was claiming that the Shockwave is to become a SBS under Federal law. I would normally think that a weapon never meant to be fired from the shoulder with a sub 18 inch barrel would be an AOW.
