May 4, 2022 · I had heard about some problems with the SPA3 Stribogs which use a roller-block styled action for softer recoil, but this one is straight blowback, simple and effective. My take here is that this is definitely a viable platform; The Stribog makes a great backpack weapon or SHTF type option. Way less recoil on the KP9. I’m an ak fanatic too though. The KP9 mags are far and away better than the stribog mags as well. Just the ability to use standard and readily available AR parts (pistol grip, trigger) places it above the Stribog in my opinion. If you are able to get a new-production MPX-K, the Timney trigger is truly fantastic. In fact, except for an optic, the MPX-K comes from the factory in top condition. I can't say that about the Stribog. Picked up a Stribog over the 6000 serial number and first time out put 210 rounds of 115 gr FMJ (Sellier & Bellot) using the curved magazines (center of target) and another 30 rounds with the steel lip straight mag (lower target). Target at 50 feet. No issues, dry mags - no oil - ran super nice to shoot, Stribog ran great.
