With Call of the Tempestarii on the horizon bringing with it images of space piracy and sailing, it has once again brought up how painfully lackluster Hydroid is in the current state of the game. Now despite getting a rework a while back that brought Hydroid slightly up to date, it still left a LOT to be desired ... Hydroid's rework has elevate him to usable, even in steel path! Nice work. I like how you can shield-gate with him along using his 2 to iframe, or you can armor tank with his 3. I like his 1 skill the most, which is a feat, as those are usually lackluster for most frames. That being said, his 3rd ability clashes with itself.Leaning towards a support frame, and those are always a little underwhelming until you need it, but the armor stripping alone is very, very nice. This dude make it sounds like he's good but in reality Hydroid is just trash. People has been asking for a rework since years now. Hydroid has a nice, broad niche as a tanky armor stripper now. His 1 no longer interferes with your gameplay, his 2 is basically Rolling Guard without a mod slot, his 3 is a nice damage buff that makes all enemy armor a non-issue and adds player armor at a good rate, and his 4 no longer makes enemies impossible to shoot.
