I can hold the shifter in high mode but it pops out very easily. L gear works great. Let me know your thoughts on fixing it. Overheating a diesel is usually either (1) air in the system, (2) leaky head gasket or cracked head (more on that in a minute), or (3) loss of airflow to the engine's intake. Air in the system is not easy to bleed out. The service manual gives you a specific procedure for this. And yes air in the system WILL cause overheating-guaranteed.

I changed all the filters, drained the gas tank, put new fuel, oil, and it started fine. Now after about 30 hours it starts and stalls out when trying to use it.
