They are defensive pistols for close in. The 42 is too big for my desire. For many years, my pocket carry was a Beretta .25 950BS. When I came across the LCP, I preferred fewer rounds of a potentially more capable caliber and it already fit the holster I was used to in my pocket. The Hogue grip was a needed add-on.LCP vs ? The P365 shoots 9mm very well. I bet in .380 it would be even better. I have both and find the Sig 380 has less recoil than the G42. I also have both the P365 9mm and Glock 43 and the same goes with the Sig P365 9mm and G43. Not a Sig fanboy. I have 6 Glock models and still not a fanboy of any brand.

The LCP II trigger is short take-up single -action-only 5.5-lbf with much better (broad and flat) trigger safety ("inner trigger").But ruger made it right.I run the heaviest wolff recoil spring in my LCP think 13 or 14lb. I put the antiwalk takedown pin from tandemkross in both, its been an extremely reliable pistol and accurate improvements with the new parts. I trust it enough the wife carries hers daily. I carry the glock 42 daily, and the LCP is the alternate.
