In Damage, the Blade is equal to Tier 3 staves (Encore, Wrath of Lovias, Staff of Corruption etc.) crafted with equal materials. The only schematic that is higher is the Lyrium-Infused Staff.

With the Black Emporium DLC (free) the best staff is Staff of Corruption schematic (or, for builds that are built around triggering effects on critical hits, the Wrath of Lovias schematic) With the Trespasser DLC, the best staff is either Encore or Blade of Tidarion schematics.
